FAQ's
When is the best time of day for a session?

The best time of day for photographs is about 1 hour before sunset. We call it the "golden hour". This is when the light is the best! If this is not possible, a location with options for shade are needed.

What should my family and I wear for our pictures?

The first and foremost rule is comfort! You will get the best pictures when everyone feels comfortable in their own skin and outfits. I always tell clients to aim for two complimentary colors with a pop of a third color. For instance, green and navy with a pop of mustard yellow. The pop can come from a child's bow, dad's tie, a pretty scarf or fun jewelry.  Try not to be too matchy-matchy!

What should I expect with a newborn session?

The best time to schedule a newborn session is within the first 10 days of birth. At this time, babies are more sleepy and easy to position. During these sessions there is a lot of hurry up and wait time! Be prepared to wait for baby to fall asleep, wait to get certain poses and wait for baby to go back to sleep again! With a newborn session you will have full use of my swaddles, wraps, hats and bonnets and additional props. However, you are welcome and encouraged to bring props of your own to include. Some examples could be the first letter of baby's name, a sentimental item that has been passed down, dad's baseball glove or uniform, mom's wedding dress or pearls, etc. If you have specific ideas you would like to include, please let me know ahead of time so I can be prepared to best accommodate them! Newborn sessions can take place in my in-home studio or in your home for a less posed, more lifestyle look.

What is a Fresh 48 Session?

The Fresh 48 Session takes place within the first 48 hours after birth at the hospital or the birthing center. These are mostly unposed photos of your new family together in the room and can include just the baby or your whole family, including siblings if you would like! They have a journalistic feel and many times they are done mostly in black and white to minimize the clutter of the room and highlight the emotion of the moment.

How does wedding photography work?

I offer three different photography packages. These packages differ in the amount of hours offered on the day of the wedding, the inclusion of an engagement, bridal or boudoir session and the opportunity to include a second shooter to better capture your day! I recommend choosing the second shooter so that every aspect of your day can be shot including both bridal parties getting ready, quicker bridal party pictures taken, multiple angles of the ceremony and more images of your reception fun! I will schedule a meeting with you and your significant other several weeks before the event in order to get to know you better and learn about all the details of your day. I want to capture every moment possible in a way that you will treasure for years to come! I take a limited number of weddings each year, so please contact me as soon as possible to secure your date.
